Halloween

MAKE YOUR OWN PUMPKIN FACE PUSH INS

- 1 hour experience -

  • DESCRIPTION

  • In this 1 hour experience your little artist will create a set of eyes, nose, and mouth out of beautiful colorful glass that will be able to be pushed into the pumpkin for a stunning and silly no-carve pumpkin!

  • Kiddos will have a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors of pre-cut glass to design and build their pumpkin face components. They will also have the opportunity to decorate with small pebbles of glass and other decorative glass elements. All materials will be prepped to keep this a kid friendly activity for all ages. Kids will be layering, gluing, and designing their unique faces!

  • These will need to fired in the kiln and be picked up a few days later. When finished they will have posts that will be used to hold the face parts onto the pumpkin.

  • AGES

    • 4+ with adult support

    • 11+ independent work

    • If both the adult and child would like to make a piece, 2 registrations are required. If only the child will be working with the aid of the adult, then only 1 registration is required.

    • Children younger than high school can not be dropped off.

  • WHEN

Join us for a day of fun fall festivity fit for the whole family!

This event promises a day of free fun with something for everyone in the family. We're excited to launch the 2nd annual Fall Fest and bring our community together to celebrate the partnership, camaraderie, and magic of fresh fall air. Fall Fest 2023 is all about fostering community, making Halloween special for the little ones, and savoring the final moments of the outdoor gathering season.

  • The Great Pumpkin Patch: Stern Glass Works presents a stunning selection of artisan pumpkins crafted from glass and ceramic. These unique pieces are created by local artisans working at ViaClay and Stern Glass Works! 11am-4pm

  • Addis Cafe: Delight in delicious food and drinks. Make sure you explore their seasonal menu. 11am-4pm

  • Oak Park Book Bike: Keep an eye out for the Oak Park Book Bike! They are bringing the magic of books and the library to us! 11am-1pm

  • The Collaboration for Early Childhood: Can you find the winged pigs? Take a leisurely stroll and explore the Southtown area to discover these delightful surprises. 11am-4pm

  • Kids Activities: So many fun activities for kids brought to you by the Collaboration for Early Childhood. 11am-4pm

  • Fall/Halloween Photo Backdrop: Get into the spirit by dressing up in your best costume or fall attire and capture memories at our special photo backdrop with your own camera. 11am-4pm

  • Live Jazz Band: Bring your blanket or chair, get comfortable, and enjoy the soothing sounds of live jazz. 11am-2pm

GLASS SUGAR SKULLS

- 1.5 hour experience -

  • DESCRIPTION

  • The sugar skull, a classic Día de Los Muertos symbol, is both a beautiful representation of a departed soul and a colorful, fun celebration of life. In this one hour experience suited for the whole family we will dive into fused glass. Each student will begin with a pre-cut skull shape that they will add decorative elements to such as flowers, eyes, mouth, splashes of color and more! We will explore, shape, color, and transparency using a variety of glass types like small pebbles of glass, strings of glass, enamels, and more! When finished the skulls will be able to hang in the window or even come the winter on your tree! This is a perfect experience for tots, kids, and adults!

THANKSGIVING TURKEY

- 1 hour -

  • DESCRIPTION

  • Thanksgiving is a time for family, yummy foods, reflection and thankfulness! I for one am so thankful for time with my family and for the opportunities I have to express my self creativity. With this class we want to share the opportunity for you to enjoy creative expression as a family
    (this class is suited for all ages). In this fused glass experience you will be making thanksgiving turkeys to hang as decoration in your homes! There will be a large selction of precut shapes and colors of sheet glass to be layered and assembled into a cute turkey! Does your turkey have red feathers, green feathers or a mix? Does it wear a hat? Or maybe your turkey has polka-dots? Let your creativity flow! This a wonderful experience for your little kids through middle schoolers.
