PURSUE YOUR INDEPENDENT WORK

 

Do you need some time in the studio to pursue independent work? Come on into Stern Glass Works for Open Studio hours. If you are a member the Open Studio hours are included in your membership. If you are not quite ready for a membership but need a few hours in the shop, we have you covered! Purchase a day pass (or up to 3-day pass) to access the studio for just the amount of time you need.

What to Expect

Open studio is a time for you to work independently while still being connected to your glass community!

  • Access to our work surfaces, machines, and hand tools.

  • Basic supplies provided

    • water, soap, towels, sharpies, paper, etc.

  • Materials available for purchase

    • Please call or stop in to see what we have in stock

  • All artists must be safety trained and checked out on all machines/tools before independent use is allowed

When / Where

  • Open Studio is booked by hour

    • 6 artists may work during open studio at a time

    • Members have priority for booking

  • Every week Stern Glass Works is open there are 10-15+ hours of Open Studio time available.

    • Please see calendar below for specific open studio times and to reserve your spot

  • When booking let us know what type of work you are planning that way we can ensure you have access to those spaces (we want to avoid double booking!)

What is your Covid-19 protocol?

  • We ask that students who are staying for a class either show vaccination records or wear a mask in order to limit the risk of spreading COVID-19

  • We will use a no-touch digital thermometer to check for temperatures before students stay for class

  • If you feel any covid type symptoms we ask that you refrain from coming into the studio.

  • We run an air purification system that has 6 layers of filtration, one of which is a HEPA filter. This filters the entire studios air 4 times per/hour.

Booking is in 1hour increments to give you the flexibility to choose when you would like to come in. Please select all hours that you plan to use. Select the date (bolded dates have available time) you’d like to come in. From the drop down menu select the hour you’d like to start then click add a time to select the following hours or other days youd like to reserve! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
